Wonderful solution for so many. Meal Village was perfect for a relative when she was undergoing medical treatments. So I bought some gift cards for a couple who just had a baby. If you don’t want to store your credit card information on the website or enter your card info with each order, you can buy yourself a gift card. No subscription, great nutritious ready-to-eat food, and reasonable to-your-door delivery fees. I highly recommend.
After searching high and low to find a prepared meal delivery service for my elderly mom who lives alone, we finally found Meal Village! We had ordered from a couple national delivery options, and all of them required a subscription, and a minimum for the number of meals. I also found too many of the meals to be spicy or include pork, which my mom would not eat. Plus they're quite pricey at around $15 a meal including shipping. Meal Village meals are the perfect proportions, they're super delicious, and they have new options every day. There's no minimum, so we can order every few days and frankly meals are just cheaper. We end up spending around $9 a meal including shipping and tip and they deliver any weekday we want. If we wake up that morning and decide we want to order some meals for dinner, done! We actually live quite far from where Meal Village is located, and meals are always delivered within the time frame they tell us. 10/10 recommend!!
I order pickup once a month, the Ground Beef Enchilada Bake with corn and Greek Chicken Kabobs are fantastic. Meals are typically below $10 when you order ahead. Only takes 3 minutes to heat up, quick and delicious option.
We’ve been ordering from Meal Village since they opened in Lisle in 2016. We’ve had a variety of different pre made meals made with quality ingredients. We appreciate additional discounts and finally people believe me that Meal Village gives back to the Community with their $30 free food gift card program no contracts nor gimmicks. I’m still hoping for gluten free options someday as well as bringing back the best Pizza in the area!
Ordering is easy and prices are reasonable for a home cooked meal that I just have to heat and eat! food is packaged well, containers are reusable for food or other things. My favorites: - Chicken enchiladas, this has long been my favorite meal village meal and will keep ordering it when available. Meal Village could offer just the rice and beans as a side dish and I would order that (at the price point of a kids meal) - BBQ beef sandwich, so much meat, would have been nice to be able to order a 2nd roll as it made 2 sandwiches. The roasted potatoes were excellent (reheated those in my air fryer). Did not care for the cole slaw because i prefer a creamy coleslaw vs a vinegar based one but I still ate the coleslaw slaw so it was ok. Loved the pickles with the sandwich - Classic wedge salad, so good -Peanut butter cookies, I would just order these for delivery if they were available every week!
I’ve used this service for over a month now while in grad school and I haven’t been able to cook much. It’s wonderful! Meals are healthy, delicious, affordable, fresh, and always delivered on time. It’s nice that I can order as needed, since subscription services can have fees and reoccurring charges I have to keep track of. I will continue using Meal Village and recommending it to my friends & family.
